Ebola Hits America: CDC Confirms First Case Of Dreaded EVD In Texas

A Texas man just back from West Africa has been confirmed as having the first case of Ebola to be diagnosed in the U.S.
Authorities with the Centers for Disease Control revealed the finding Tuesday, two days after the unidentified patient arrived at a Dallas hospital with suspicious symptoms.
Officials at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas put the man into “strict isolation” and sent a blood specimen to state and federal labs for testing.
The CDC said results show the man has the deadly disease which has been linked to more than 3,000 recent deaths in Africa. According to the World Health Organization, there have been more than 6,500 cases confirmed in Africa, with Guinea, Liberia, and Sierra Leone among the hardest hit.
Dr. Christopher Perkins with the Dallas County health department told reporters that the Texas man didn’t start showing symptoms until he arrived home.
“We know at this time this person was not symptomatic during travel but became symptomatic once arriving here and being home for several days,” said Perkins, according theDallas Morning News. “So that decreases the threat that might be to the general population.”
The CDC has a team enroute to North Texas to help health officials re-trace the man's contacts since he has been back in the states.
Dr. Thomas Frieden, CDC director, said the man arrived from Liberia on Sept. 20, but didn't start feeling ill until Sept. 24. The man saught medical treatment last Friday before being sent home, but later admitted to the hospital on Sunday.
The deadly Ebola-EVD has been around since the 1970's (on and off), but the recent outbreak which started early this year and has been traced to Guinea is said to have been the worst yet, since the virus was discovered.

Breaking Boundaries: Mount Zion Debuts Rupantar, India's First Gospel Movie

I just saw this from a colleague's page and decided to share.

Rupantar, Mount Zion’s first Indian movie debuts
Bollywood is regarded as one of the largest movie makers in the world and its influence permeates the entire Asian world. For many years before the advent of Nollywood, the movie world in Nigeria was overshadowed by the dominance of the dance and song-filled Indian movies. However, an evangelical or gospel movie segment of Bollywood is never known the way we have the gospel side of Nollywood.
Interestingly, however, it can be confidently said this year that Nollywood have walked into Bollywood through the gospel angle. The Mount Zion Film Productions probably becomes the first Nigerian movie-makers to penetrate Bollywood with a gospel movie shot in New Delhi by a modest Nigerian crew, and starred entirely by Indian Christians. This has become a landmark project.

According to Evang. Mike Bamiloye, President of Mount Zion Film Productions, they were invited to an annual church conference in New Delhi in 2013, during which they caught the divine revelation from God about reaching the people of the land with an evangelical movie that would address the spiritual problems of the people.

Following this divine idea, a relevant inspiring script was written in Nigeria and sent to our partners in New Delhi for review and to fit into the relevant spiritual and social backgrounds of the people. The script was translated by Ashima Batra, a member of an India ministry, Shiloh Global Ministries Inc., who produced the movie. A team of script editors comprising Indian linguists later worked on the script to avoid religious or spiritual controversies. Then, some sessions of auditions were held for Christians and church members who came from different churches within the city of New Delhi.

Evang. Mike and Gloria Bamiloye had gone to the Asian country with their son: Damilola Mike-Bamiloye, who was also in charge of light and sounds, and the cameraman who shot the movie, and their daughter served on the film location as the continuity manager of the project. When they arrived in the city with all the modest filming gadgets – camera, tracks, lights and sound equipment, which all fitted into three fairly large bags, a three-day seminar/workshop on Christian drama and film production was held for all intending casts of the movie, which preceded the 10 days of intensive work on film locations within the city and the slums of New Delhi. The casts of the movie comprised largely of adults and elderly people with more than six pastors drawn from many churches, all eager and expectant to feature in the first gospel movie in that part of the country.

According to Evang. Mike Bamiloye, the casts had never acted in drama or movies before, but God helped them to act with all their heart and soul. They were all very loving Indians and the slum used as a major location, though very uncomfortable with the strong heat and swarm of disturbing flies, the people living there were very gentle, accommodating and cooperative. Bamiloye said they shot both in the city and in the slum, and “ten days later we finished shooting the gospel movie, Rupantar!”

The movies stars Bobby Chellappan, Anjana Sigler, Neha Patel, Pranab Debnath and Shiv Kumar Jena.

He added that his drama mission trip to India and the successful making of the Hindi gospel movie has opened his eyes to another area of drama mission – “Reaching the unreached in their local tongues”. He said Mount Zion has made movies with Christians in the United States, and in Canada and “I have made movies with believers in Australia, however, those movies were made by Nigerians or Africans in those foreign nations. We ended up ministering only to our fellow Africans in those foreign lands.

“But, since the success of the Hindi gospel movie, which was acted by the Indians for the Indians, addressing the spiritual and common problems of the Indians, all my drama mission’s focus has changed suddenly: I do not have much interest in making movies in foreign lands, acted in English language by Africans anymore.

“Now, I am yearning to shoot gospel movies in Spanish language, acted by the Spanish Christians. I desire to be in China and make gospel movies for the Chinese believers acted by them for grassroots evangelism. I want to make movies in Swedish language acted by the Swedish. I want to create a grassroots implement of revival and evangelism in the form of gospel movies in Korean language for the Korean nations, the Cantonese language of the 60 million Cantonese in China, the Thai language of Thailand,” he said.

“We have successfully made an India movie in Hindi language, what of the over 90 million people who speak Punjabi language in India and the more than 200 million Indians who speak Bengali? In Asia, there are several other major languages that have never seen any gospel movie in their mother tongues, yet, they have churches and missionaries. That is my focus. That is my hunger and thirst. That is my dream. And that is my ministerial campaign.”

It seems Nigerian Christian movie makers are beginning to shift focus to traveling to other African nations to make movies to evangelise the local African people in their native local languages.

The likes of Evang. Segun Badejo of Gideon Missions, Ibadan, has just broken a major ground in Kenya, with five gospel movies shot in Kiswahili and acted by the indigenes in their mother tongue. Earlier this year, he was in Cameroon where he trained a group of young drama ministers from various churches after which he went on a seven days film location with them and came out with ‘The Hunter’s Prey’.

Kolawole David Okeowo, President of The Reconciliators Ministries (Trecom), was in Ghana late last year where he worked with various young drama ministers to shoot a major evangelical movie, ‘Godje: In the Fiery Furnace’. A member of Mount Zion Faith Ministries, Joseph Yemi Adepoju, with his wife, were in Togo earlier this year to train some drama groups from various churches, after which they spent a whole week with them shooting a film studded with Togolese casts. Then, in July this year, they spent another three weeks in Zambia training some drama ministers and making a movie fully acted by Zambians.

Outside of Africa, Mount Zion have made four movies in Dallas, Texas; one movie in Maryland, three movies in Hamilton and in Winnipeg, both in Canada, including three movies shot in Australia.

Senate Gives President Jonathan Approval To Borrow $1 Billion To Fight Boko Haram

Lawmakers in Nigeria on Thursday approved a request from President Goodluck Jonathan for a more than $1 billion loan to fight Boko Haram extremists.
Members of the Senate upper chamber of parliament approved the request, which was made earlier this month to beef up the military fighting the insurgents in the northeast.
The Chairman of the Committee on Finance, Ahmad Makarfi (PDP-Kaduna), who presented the report, said the facility was not a cash loan but supply of military hardware to be paid over seven years.
He said in view of the urgent need to restore normalcy in the country and since the loan did not attract interest, Nigeria should take advantage of the opportunity.

According to him, the requested loan was for helicopters, ships, armament and hardware.
“The 12 nos. M135 Helicopters being requested for now are appropriate for the nature of the operation and the terrain.
“Belarus has accepted to give helicopters on the condition of instalment payment over a seven-year period.
“Other hardware, armament and equipment will be bought on the same terms from other European countries,” he said.
Mr. Makarfi further said the joint committee discovered in its findings that the number of helicopters in the fleet of the Nigeria Air Force was inadequate for effective deployment.
He said the reason for inadequate helicopters was due to inadequate funds for maintenance and recent burning of two helicopters by insurgents in Maiduguri.
He further said that no new helicopter had been added to the fleet since 1998.

Meanwhile News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the senate, however, went into a rowdy session prior to the approval as the lawmakers were divided over the matter.
While some lawmakers applauded the effort of the joint committee and moved for immediate approval of the loan in view of the security challenges, others raised concerns about the legality of the approval.
Olubunmi Adetumbi (APC-Ekiti), quoting the Appropriation Act and the constitution, argued that approving the loan without following laid down procedures had consequences.
“This request to the best of our ability and with the assistance of the constitution, has consequences for the existing Appropriation Act,’’ he said.
“We do not question the right of Mr President to ask for money but there is a process that needs to be followed,’’ he said.
In the same vein, Sen. George Akume (APC-Benue) called for appropriate procedures to be followed by the senate.
“Nobody is against the fight against insurgency. My concern is that the appropriate thing should be done,’’ he said.
The Senate President, Sen. David Mark, however, doused tension by explaining that the senate was not flouting any legal or constitutional provision as the borrowing was not in cash to attract any further procedure before approval.
“I will suggest that we go ahead and approve this without raising any issues that will have any security implications.
“This is my appeal on this matter,’’ he said.
President Jonathan had on July 16 written to the Senate seeking approval to borrow $1 billion (N168 billion) to fight the deadly Boko Haram sect.
In a letter addressed to the Senate President, Mr. Mark, Mr. Jonathan spoke about the need for external borrowing to enable the upgrade of security equipment in order to fight the insurgency that is currently bedevilling Nigeria, particularly the North East.
Mr. Jonathan said the $1 billion will also be used to train the military and other security officers.
“You are no doubt cognisant of the ongoing and serious security challenges which the nation is facing, as typified by the Boko Haram terrorist threat. This is an issue that we have discussed at various times.
“I would like to bring to your attention the urgent need to upgrade the equipment, training and logistics of our Armed Forces and Security services to enable them more forcefully confront this serious threat.
“For this reason, I seek the concurrence o the National Assembly for external borrowing of not more than $1 billion dollars including government to government arrangements for this upgrade,” Mr. Jonathan said in the letter.
The external borrowing comes amid criticisms and questions regarding the management of Nigeria’s defence budget, which gulps as much as 20 per cent of the entire budget.
The Nigerian government justifies the about N1 trillion spent on security on the growing insecurity situation in the country. However, the military and security officials are still considered ill-equipped to tackle Boko Haram insurgency.

No details were given about which country would supply the other hardware and the loan must now be approved by members of the lower House of Representatives before Jonathan can sign it.

Jonathan's request came amid calls for him to declare "total war" on the militants, who have seized territory in the northeastern states of Yobe, Borno and Adamawa in recent weeks.

Boko Haram has repeatedly bested Nigeria's military, leading to repeated claims that troops are under-equipped and over-stretched, although top brass maintain that they are now clawing back ground.

Over One trillion naira didn't make a lot of difference in terms of equipping the military, but an additional N168 billion naira will make the difference?
Agreed, it is not a cash loan, But won't money be released eventually to pay for the military equipment supplied even if its for 7 years?
Our great country Nigeria.

Hmmmm.

Meet 'Snake Boy' Who Suffers From Rare Condition That Makes Him Shed Skin Every 41 days...Must Soak Himself In Water Every1 hour To Stay Alive

Ari Wibowo has a condition called Erythroderma that makes his skin scaly and flake off
A teenager has been dubbed ‘Snake Boy’ for having an unusual condition that means he sheds his skin every two days.
Ari Wibowo sheds his skin like a snake every 41 days and must constantly smear his body with moisturiser to stop it hardening and seizing up.
The Indonesian teenager has a rare skin condition that doctors in Indonesia have been unable or unwilling to treat and which has left him with an extraordinary appearance.
He suffers from Erythroderma, an inflammatory skin disease also known as 'red man syndrome', that causes the skin over almost the entire body to become scaly and flake off.

Ari has shed his skin every 41 days since he was born 16 years ago.
He must soak his body in water every hour - night and day - and smear himself with lotion every three hours to prevent drying out.

Photographer Nurcholis Anhari Lubis, 35, has documented the little boy’s condition as part of an essay project and describes the boy's skin condition as ‘scaly like a snake about to shed his skin’.
‘It’s really sad because he was not born normally and has scaly skin all over his body, similar to being severely burnt, from the sole of his feet up to his head,’ Mr Lubis told Daily Mail Australia.

‘If the boy doesn't moisturise or soak his skin in water, his body would shrivel and harden up like a sculpture and he won't be able to move,' Mr Lubis said.
'If he leaves it unattended for too long, he won’t be able to speak because the wrinkles inside his mouth would go hard and it would dry out all his blood in his body.'

Mr Lubis said Ari's family were told by doctors at the hospital where he was born that it did not have the resources to treat the condition, and asked them to take the infant away.
He and his family now live by a routine of constant washing and dressing his skin with creams.
Still, the boy is trying to live a normal life in his village.

'He eats normal food like everyone else and his favourite snacks are instant noodles and crackers,' Mr Lubis said.
‘He had trouble making friends when he was younger and would often go and play with the other kids but most of the time, they would avoid him because he is different to everyone else.'

Ari is taking lessons, but is forced to study alone because of ignorance about his condition in the community.
‘No schools are willing to accept him because they fear his skin condition would be contagious to teachers and other students,' Mr Lubis said.

Ari also suffers prejudice because of superstitions in his village.
Mr Lubis said many people blame Ari's condition on a superstition that if a woman mistreats animals while she is pregnant then it will affect her unborn child.
Some people believe Ari's mother ‘tortured a lizard’ she found in the family home when she was pregnant with Ari.

‘I do not believe the myths but in Indonesia, there are still a lot of people who believe this,’ Mr Lubis said.
Jakarta-based Mr Lubis spent four days with the little boy and his family.
‘When I approached Ari for a photo shoot, he looked very shy but didn't feel embarrassed and was happy to share his story,’ he said.
‘My interests have been to document lives and the way humans live in their own world, interacting with it and struggling to change it into their own way.'
Ari has trouble talking because of the condition and the vision in his right eye is impaired, while the left must be kept moist with constant drops.

I just saw this post and decided to share it. God deserves every honour, praise and Glory for the life you live. Make sure you never miss to praise him.

No More Ebola In Nigeria-Health Minister

Nigeria has cleared all patients being monitored for the Ebola virus, the federal health ministry said on Wednesday, but doctors said they would have to wait to declare the outbreak over.
"There is nobody under surveillance for the Ebola virus in any part of Nigeria," health ministry spokesman Dan Nwomeh Special Assistant to the Minister of Health on Media and Communication told AFP.
"All those under surveillance have completed their mandatory 21-day period stipulated by the WHO (World Health Organization)."
Eight people have died out of 20 confirmed cases in Nigeria since July, according to the WHO, although the Nigerian government gave a lower figure of seven deaths in 19 cases.

In all 529 people were placed under medical surveillance for signs of the disease in the commercial capital Lagos and the oil-producing Rivers State.

Four of those who died were healthcare workers who treated a Liberian government official, Patrick Sawyer, who brought the virus into the country from Monrovia.

The head of the Emergency Operation Centre (EOC) for Ebola in Lagos, Faisal Shuaib, also confirmed that there were no current confirmed cases or anyone under surveillance in Nigeria.

"As of today, there is no case of Ebola in Nigeria. All listed contacts who were under surveillance have been followed up for 21 days," he said.

"The outbreak in Nigeria can be declared officially over only if there are no more cases after 42 days, or two incubation periods from the last confirmed case." he added

Nigeria has not reported any new cases since September 8, the WHO said. If there are no further cases, Nigeria could be declared Ebola-free on October 20.

The EOC comprises staff from the WHO, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Medecins Sans Frontiers and the UN children's agency working under the Nigerian government.

The development came after the WHO said on Monday that Ebola was "pretty much contained" in Nigeria and Senegal, which recorded one confirmed case of the disease.

Elsewhere in west Africa, the situation remains dire, with nearly 3,000 dead, most of them in Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea.

The WHO has warned that the number of cases could explode while the CDC said 1.4 million people could be infected by January 2015.

Chibok Girls Not Released YET: Sighted Girls Are Those Who Escaped Abduction And Are Heading To New Schools In Kaduna

Director of defence information, Major-General Chris Olukolade, who earlier confirmed the news to that some Cbhibok girls were released has retracted his statement.
Olukolade is quoted to have said: “some of the abducted Chibok girls are already in the barracks”, but he subsequently retracted the statement.
.“Yes, we found out that they are not the same girls. They are different,” he later said.
A few hours before the news broke, the national chairman of Chibok Association, Dr Pogu Bitrus, had expressed optimism that the girls would soon be rescued. This coupled with the fact that there have been reports of negotiations with Bokoharam to free the girls gave Nigerians hope.

However, reliable sources have confirmed that the school girls sighted in Maimalari barracks today were not freshly released by Boko Haram as being speculated.
The girls, 34 in number had earlier escaped from Boko haram militants in April as they were being driven away from the scene of the massive abductions in Chibok.
The Borno state government said the girls were heading to new schools secured from them in Kaduna with full military escort.

Clearing The Air: Killed Boko Haram Commander Is Isa Damsaka, Late Abubakar Shekau's ‘Impersonator’ (Must Read)

When report started going round that the face of Boko-haram identified as 'Abubakar Shekau' had been killed by Nigerian troops, many had their doubts as such stories have been peddled in the past, but the 'ghost' of the said 'Abubakar Shekau' kept appearing in videos, leaving many Nigerians confused.
However a new report is clearing the air on who the man who appears in Bokoharam videos is.
Read below:
The name of the Boko Haram commander killed in Konduga, Borno State, by Nigerian soldiers last week is Isa Damsaka, security sources have told the TheCable.
He also went by two other names ─ Bashir Konduga and Bashir Mohammed ─ as Boko Haram commanders use various names, an official explained.
Damsaka was the man seen in Boko Haram videos posing as“Abubakar Shekau” since 2013, one of the sources further said.
Not much is known about Damsaka, who was thought to be a Kanuri and was also said to be very fluent in Arabic and Hausa languages, with a little understanding of English.

Shekau announced in 2009 that he had taken over leadership of Boko Haram after the death of the founder, Mohammed Yusuf.
But he had been reported killed on two previous occasions, the first being that he died in the Maiduguri uprising of August 2009 and the second in 2013 after a military raid on Sambisa forest. But videos emerged each time debunking the reports.

According to a security source, “The real Shekau was killed on or about 19 June 2013 as the Nigerian government was concluding a peace deal with Boko Haram. He died in the Sambisa forest as a result of gunshot wounds he received in an encounter with the JTF.” He had been injured but was taken for treatment by his lieutenants to Amitchide, on the border with Cameroon, and he did not survive, the source said.

However, the official added, the surviving commanders later regrouped and appointed Damsaka to continue to pose as Shekau in the propaganda videos. “Boko Haram leaders have been using him for quite some time to make their propaganda videos. The script is written for him by another commander which he then reads as he delivers his message on-camera,”the official said. The “real” Shekau was said to speak a little more English than his impersonator and was more composed as well. “You would notice that Damsaka was not always coherent and was more dramatic in his video outings, sometimes appearing to be mentally deranged,” he said.

When rumours started doing the round in 2013 that Shekau was dead, a video was released in September of that year with a man claiming to be Shekau mocking the Nigerian government for pronouncing him dead. He said the world “should know that I cannot die except by the will of Allah” in the video. The man said: “They said I am dead, but here I am. The world should know that I am alive and will only die at the appointed time. Everybody should be judged according to the dictates of his conscience. “What I am doing is written in the Holy Qur’an and the Hadith and I will not stop. I challenge all the clerics of the world to question my deeds. Those underrating my capacity should have a rethink. I will never allow democracy to thrive. “The concept of government of the people by the people for the people will never be possible and will never exist. Democracy shall be replaced only by the government of Allah, from Allah and for Allah. “Nigerian soldiers are late. After killing many of them in Monguno and Benisheik, we have snatched their armoured carriers and a Hilux van and then hoisted Islamic flags on them. We now move freely with them.

Damsaka, or “Shekau”, has made major pronouncements on behalf of the sect, including owning up to the kidnap of over 200 schoolgirls in Chibok, Borno State. He also recently pronounced Islamic caliphate in some parts of Borno State.

Interestingly however, renown journalist close to Boko Haram Ahmed Salkida, is insisting that Abubakar Shekau “Alive And Well”.

Just In: How Boko Haram Leader, Abubakar Shekau Was 'Truly Killed' By Nigerian Troops(Must Read)

Reliable sources among the Nigerian troops insist that the man pictured above popularly known as Abubakar Shekau has indeed been killed.
While the Defence Head Quarters is yet to release an official statement about the killing of Boko Haram 'spokes person' and commander identified Abubakar Shekau, there are more and more reports giving credence to the fact that indeed, the insurgent's front man may have met his waterloo in the hands of Nigerian forces.
In a fresh report by Vanguard, details of how Boko Haram's kingpin-notorious for appearing and boasting in videos-was captured and killed has now been revealed. Read below:
Details of how Abubakar Shekau, the impostor and leader of the Boko Haram terrorist group lost his left in a shootout with Nigerian troops in Konduga on Wednesday Sept. 17 emerged yesterday with military sources disclosing that he met his waterloo in an ambush reminiscent of the type the sect had been using to hack down Nigerian troops.
Plenty after the cut.

It is gathered that when the first attack on Konduga whereby hundreds of insurgents were taken unawares and killed after over seven hours of fighting and several of their colleagues, arms and ammunition captured, the military commanders strategically urged his captured members to send a message to Shekau that they (insurgents) have routed the troops.

Before the captured insurgents were urged to make the contact and deliver the message, the military commanders had promised them that their cooperation would play a role in the level of punishment to be meted to them after the battle hence they felt reassured.

Also, the captured insurgents had disclosed that Shekau usually moved in a convoy of cars painted in military colours while he sits in a MOWAG Armoured tank with Boko Haram inscription on its front.
When Shekau was contacted, his captured men spoke to him in Arabic, assuring him that they had taken over Konduga, thereby giving him the all clear to proceed from Sambisa Forest. To convince him further, a set of his men captured were told to sing the victory song in Kanuri language they normally sing at the background.

Having convinced himself that the messenger was his chief courier in such situation and the message is authentic, he and his followers made for Konduga, heavily armed with Anti-Aircraft weapons, General Purpose Machine Guns, several AK 47 rifles and other IEDS’.

Photo purported to be body of late Shekau
However, on entering Konduga town, he and his followers were encircled by strategically placed and heavily armed Nigerian soldiers. Immediately he contacted the messenger and discovered that something was amiss, he ordered his followers to start shooting in all direction.

This spurred the Army Commanders to give the directive to open fire. When he discovered that the fire power of the Nigerian Army who used both Infantry and Artillery weaponry was overpowering that of his men, he jumped out of the MOWAG and made to escape.

But eagle-eyed Nigerian Soldiers spotted him and opened fire in him, shattering his legs in the process. It was learnt that he also received bullet wounds in other parts of his body leading to his bleeding to death.

Recall that Military sources had on Sunday night disclosed that Nigerian troops scored a strategic victory in the current battle against terrorists operating in the North East on September 17.
The sources noted that during a desperate attempt to capture Konduga in their delusion to eventually marching on and capturing Maiduguri, the man who had been mimicking Late Abubakar Shekau in recent videos was feared to have been finally killed.

The sources said,
“It is getting more certain that the terrorists’ Commander who has been mimicking Shekau in those videos is the one killed in Konduga on September 17, 2014.”

Affirming the development,PRNigeria sources said the suspected demise of the Boko Haram leader is responsible for the scattering of the sect members in different independent locations in the neighbouring countries, especially in Cameroon noticed in recent days.
The security sources noted further that “the process of confirming that the dead body we have is the same as that character who has been posing as Shekau is ongoing”adding “He is definitely a prominent terrorist commander. I don’t want to say anything about this yet please.”
Another high ranking military source insisted that the resemblance is too striking to be a coincidence.
“They cited his facial marks, beards and teeth apart from the recovery by the Nigerian troops of some of the Armoured Vehicles and Hilux jeeps that had featured in previous videos of the prime suspect.
“The officers assured that the Defence Headquarters will soon address the nation after full investigation of their latest discovery”.
Meanwhile, the Defence headquarters yesterday dismissed insinuation that Cameroonian military personnel carried out raids on Boko Haram terrorists into border communities in Nigeria.
According to a report posted on its twitter handle, DHQ said
“There was no raid whatsoever in any part of Nigeria’s territory in pursuit of terrorists as claimed in some reports allegedly quoting Cameroon military authorities”.
“All operations ongoing in the environs of Konduga & all associated border location within the country are completely being undertaken by Nigerian troops”

Ray Of Hope: Boko Haram To Free 219 Chibok Girls In Swap Deal

After much persuasion, Boko Haram has agreed to release the abducted 219 Chibok girls if the Federal Government will simultaneously set free its 18 key commanders, The Nation reports.
The two parties have asked their representatives to go back to their leaders on the new swap deal proposal.
Prior to the latest agreement at the talks in Abuja, which was witnessed by some officials of the International Committee of the Red Cross(ICRC), Boko Haram had insisted on a piecemeal release of the girls, with priority given to 30 married Christians among them.

The Federal Government also offered to release six of the 18 sect leaders in detention.
The two sides maintained a parallel stand until they met again in Abuja at a session facilitated by the President, Civil Rights Congress (CRC),  Comrade Shehu Sani.
The sect said if the government attempted to secure the girls by force, it might lead to fatalities.
At the meeting, Boko Haram also maintained that it had the capacity to “engage the Federal Government for 45 years”.
It said the outcome of the talks would determine the end of the insurgency.
Some of those at the talks gave insights into the new dimension to the moves to free the Chibok girls, who were abducted from their hostel on April 15.
It was gathered that the session was attended by ICRC officials.
One of those who attended  said: “The sect shifted its position and agreed to release all the girls instead of 30 Christian married girls it had promised. But Boko Haram said it does not trust the government going by previous experience.
“If the government had respected previous talks, the Chibok girls were initially meant to be off the hook during the Eid-el Fitr festival. Again about two weeks ago, a delegation was already in Maiduguri until the swap deal was bungled.
“Some security agents only advised on the release of six out of the 18 leaders of the sect. They rated the rest 12 as dangerous.
“When the insurgents found out, they backtracked and demanded the release of the 18 leaders. The development paved the way for the latest talks in Abuja which involved the ICRC.”
“By the new arrangement, ICRC will pick up the girls and simultaneously hand over the detained 18 leaders to Boko Haram.
“The government also said it would not free the detained leaders of Boko Haram until all the girls were released.
Asked what was eventually agreed upon, another source at the session said:
“We generally agreed that all the parties should go back to their leaders on the agreement reached. The government said no to piecemeal release of the girls and Boko Haram claimed that it will not have any business with the government until all the 18 leaders of the sect are freed.
“After the Eid-el-Kabir festival, the two parties will meet again on the terms to finalise the agreement or part ways.
“Before the meeting rose, Boko Haram representatives warned against the use of force to liberate the girls. It also made it clear that it had the “capacity to take on the Federal Government for the next 45 years.”
Responding to a question on whether the sect will end the insurgency or not, another source said: “The delegation from Boko Haram said the outcome of the latest round of talks will determine whether they should ceasefire or not.”

Shocking: Grandma Slaughters Grandson, Uses Him For 'Peppersoup'

In a very shocking report, 3 people including the paternal grandmother have been arrested by the Niger State police command for slaughtering a 9-year-old boy and using the body to prepare peper soup delicacy.

The incidence happened in Koso village in Lavun Local Government Area of Niger State.
Commissioner of Police, Niger State Command, Mr. Olusola Amore, told newsmen that the family of the late boy had reported Liman Doo Mohammed’s mysterious disappearance to the police on the 9th of last month.
However, another report hinted the police that they should beam their search light on the paternal grandmother of the deceased, because he was last seen in her company.
He said based on this vital information, detectives were put on red alert to closely monitor the grandmother called Fatima Sarki’s movement.
Also arrested with her were other relations suspected to be her collaborators.
Amore said on interrogation, the grandmother confessed to have been involved in the dastardly act and mentioned one Zhitsu Aliyu whom she said actually slaughtered the boy.
Another accomplice mentioned was one Amina Musa, who was accused of helping to cook the boy’s remains.

All the suspects have been charged to court on a three count charge of criminal conspiracy, culpable homicide and cannibalism.
According to the Commissioner, ”The pots and plates the suspects used in cooking and serving themselves with the said cooked human flesh were recovered and are now exhibits.”
