Chibok Girls Not Released YET: Sighted Girls Are Those Who Escaped Abduction And Are Heading To New Schools In Kaduna

Director of defence information, Major-General Chris Olukolade, who earlier confirmed the news to that some Cbhibok girls were released has retracted his statement.
Olukolade is quoted to have said: “some of the abducted Chibok girls are already in the barracks”, but he subsequently retracted the statement.
.“Yes, we found out that they are not the same girls. They are different,” he later said.
A few hours before the news broke, the national chairman of Chibok Association, Dr Pogu Bitrus, had expressed optimism that the girls would soon be rescued. This coupled with the fact that there have been reports of negotiations with Bokoharam to free the girls gave Nigerians hope.

However, reliable sources have confirmed that the school girls sighted in Maimalari barracks today were not freshly released by Boko Haram as being speculated.
The girls, 34 in number had earlier escaped from Boko haram militants in April as they were being driven away from the scene of the massive abductions in Chibok.
The Borno state government said the girls were heading to new schools secured from them in Kaduna with full military escort.
